Red Nara Lava Pebbles are formed when volcanic lava flows spill into the ocean and rapidly hardens as a result. These naturally occurring lava stones are harvested from beaches on tropical Asian islands. The Nara lava pebbles then go through a 'tumbling' process which removes irregular or sharp edges resulting in a smooth uniform shape. Since Nara pebbles are a volcanic rock material, they can naturally withstand extreme heat temperatures without crumbling or exploding.
